Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is the application of hands on techniques to identify and treat soft tissue and joint mobility restrictions in order to restore normal function and alleviate symptoms. Our clinicians are highly trained in an array of manual techniques to augment treatment and minimize recovery time. These techniques include soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization/traction, trigger point therapy, Graston technique, and manual stretching/resistive exercise.

Therapeutic Exercise

With most of the conditions we see, our evaluation identifies areas of the body that have become weakened due to injury, or weaknesses that may have contributed to injury in the first place. Implementing a program of therapeutic exercises is instrumental in restoring patients’ normal function, alleviating pain, and minimizing future occurrences. Our primary focus is to:

  • Provide our clients with a comprehensive strengthening program that they can perform basically anywhere without the need to have expensive equipment
  • Ensure that clients are performing their strengthening exercises correctly through extensive education and regular feedback.
  • Teach our clients how to progress themselves once they are no longer participating in skilled treatment at our facility.

Therapeutic Modalities

Modalities are physical agents that we utilize in our clinics to help addressing pain, swelling, and inflammation in an effort to maximize recovery time and aide the body in the healing process. These included:

  • Heat/Cold therapies
  • Therapeutic Ultrasound
  • Electrical Stimulation (NMES, TENS)
  • Iontophoresis

Your physical therapist will determine if these may be beneficial based on your specific condition and phase of healing and implement accordingly.
